Bradfield College
About us:
Bradfield College, also known as St Andrew's College, Bradfield, is a renowned public school (English fee-charging boarding and day school) for pupils aged 13–18. Located in the small village of Bradfield in the Berkshire countryside, the school is within an hour of London, offering a serene yet accessible educational environment.
The school, founded in 1850 by Thomas Stevens, rector and Lord of the Manor of Bradfield, has a longstanding history and enjoys a well-established reputation as one of the country's leading co-educational, independent schools. It is known for its provision of academic excellence and a well-rounded education. The campus, set amidst unspoilt Berkshire countryside, provides a picturesque backdrop for the students' educational journey.
Bradfield College has a vibrant student body of approximately 810 to 820 pupils, comprising 320 girls and 490 boys, from the UK and overseas. Boys and girls typically enter Bradfield at 13+ (Year 9), and many more join the College’s popular Sixth Form, where they have the option to study either the International Baccalaureate (IB) or A Levels. This diverse and inclusive environment is further enriched by the twelve boarding houses at the school, including Faulkner's, a purpose-built co-educational house for the first year at 13+ entry.
The College is popular among boarding students and offers a choice of college pathways alongside an extensive co-curricular programme. This programme includes a bespoke boarding experience for Year 9 students, designed to ease their transition into the school community and foster personal growth. The school's co-curricular offerings are supported by impressive facilities such as extensive outdoor pitches, an all-weather astro-turf, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor tennis dome, golf course, sports hall, dance studio, and a stunning open-air Greek-style amphitheatre at the heart of the campus.
Bradfield College is committed to providing the highest possible care and education for all its pupils, dedicating itself to nurturing their academic, social, and personal development within a supportive and challenging environment.
