Beech Lodge School
Description
About us:
Beech Lodge School is a unique and progressive educational institution located in the countryside near Maidenhead, Berkshire, set within 10 acres of land. Founded in 2013 by Daniela Shanly and Emma Barklem, who sought a different educational approach for their sons, the school is designed for children who think differently and may not fit into mainstream educational settings. The school focuses on providing an attachment-focused and compassionate learning environment for children aged 7-18 with emotional and social difficulties.
With an emphasis on creating a strong family/school relationship, Beech Lodge aims to ensure each child receives a tailored educational experience. It provides a range of support levels to cater to individual needs, underlining its commitment to an individualized child-centered learning approach. The school's nurturing environment is designed to build social and life skills, and it offers access to therapeutic and specialist interventions alongside educational tools.
The school is co-educational and serves around 79 pupils. It does not require entrance exams, reflecting its approach to individual learning paths rather than standard academic pressures. For the academic year 2022/23, the day fees were approximately £66,363. Despite its specialized approach, the school meets the standards set in the schedule to the Education (Independent School Standards) Regulations 2014, ensuring a high quality of education and care.
Beech Lodge School is led by Head Mr. Daniel Gillespie and has grown from its initial five pupils in a small converted barn to occupying spacious, purpose-built buildings with state-of-the-art facilities. This growth signifies its success and the demand for an educational setting that respects and nurtures children with unique learning needs
