Blanchelande College
About us:
Blanchelande College is Guernsey's only fully co-educational independent school catering to boys and girls aged 2½-18. The college is set in an idyllic rural location, providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can freely explore and have their talents fostered. The school aims to achieve high standards while avoiding undue pressure, ensuring a balanced development for all students.
Founded in 1902, Blanchelande College is a Roman Catholic private school, part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth. It stands out as the only fully mixed independent school in Guernsey. Initially established as a small school for girls by a French order of nuns, the college is deeply rooted in the values of love for God and service to neighbors, reflecting its Catholic ethos.
The college offers education for a wide age range of students from 2 to 18 years, with around 458 pupils enrolled. It has a sixth form, which was introduced in September 2020, providing further education and preparation for higher studies. The day fees per term range from £3,045 to £3,950, with annual fees around £11,340. Scholarships and bursaries are also available to support students financially. Prospective students typically need to pass an entrance exam as part of the admissions process.
Blanchelande College provides a comprehensive educational experience that not only focuses on academic excellence but also emphasizes the overall development of its students through its nurturing environment and rooted values.
